Editorial Policy

NameBloom is a name discovery database and editorial guide. We label internal rankings clearly, avoid unsupported claims, and correct errors when readers report them.

How We Build Name Pages

Name entries combine structured fields such as meaning, origin, gender, variants, sibling ideas, and short descriptions. Higher-value pages may also include hand-edited etymology, pronunciation, cultural notes, and related reading.

Popularity Labels

When a page says "NameBloom index," it refers to our internal ordering, not an official government birth registry. Official rankings can differ by country, year, and data source.

Indexing Standards

Short database entries are useful for browsing, but they are not always strong standalone search results. NameBloom noindexes thin entries and keeps them discoverable through search, origin pages, meaning hubs, and related-name modules until they receive stronger editorial expansion.

Corrections

Names carry cultural weight. If you find an origin, pronunciation, translation, or public-figure reference that needs correction, contact us at [email protected]. We usually review reports within 1-3 business days.
